Car purchase and delayed delivery

My daughter purchased a new car in February under PCP and delivery was scheduled for late March. Obviously this never arrived due to the lockdown and as of this week still no date, which we expected. My daughter has been furloughed and at this stage no idea when going back to work. Even though the agreement was signed before lockdown is there any way she can go back to them and withdraw from the agreement due to extraordinary circumstances and not know when she will be back at work?
Thanks

What does the agreement say about cancellation?
Does the agreement run for 36 months (or whatever) from when the car is delivered, or 36 months from when the car should have been delivered?
If the PCP period is from when the car is delivered, then at least your daughter has not had the car and paid 4 or 5 months' premium for barely any use of the car.
If she is furloughed and expects to go back to work, another option rather than cancel is to delay the delivery until she is working and then take delivery of the new car so she gets the full term in normal use of the car.0 -
The finance agreement and the contract to buy the car are separate.
Your cooling off period on the finance agreement probably (but check your paperwork) doesn't start until the finance co pay the dealer, which may not have happened yet if the car hasn't been delivered.
If you can terminate the finance agreement within your statutory cooling off period, then whats left is your contract to buy the car from the dealer. In theory, they could insist on you honouring that contract (albeit without finance), but I doubt they'd get far if you just don't have the cash.
From experience, dealers end up with cars in stock from cancelled deals all the time. I think if you can get out of the PCP using your statutory rights, I doubt there would be much recourse from the dealer about the contract for the car.1
