Hello
I completed my IVA in Feb 2020 and now wish to improve my credit score. How can I go about this ? I have heard that the IVA still appears on credit reference agencies records for another year after completion ? if correct does this then automatically dispear after the 6th year? Lastly would it help to send a copy of my completion certificate to the three main reference agencies ?

It disappears from your file six years after the start date. No need to send anyone anything.
  • I took out a Vanquis credit card to start to build a score from that. It’s high rate but I use it say for petrol or shopping then make sure I pay at the end of the month. I try and keep the amount I’ve spent under 20% of the credit limit. This has helped on my credit report. Hope that helps.

Thanks Carol. I have just applied for one and what you have said were my thoughts. Just to use for petrol and clear off each month. Thankyou for your reply.
