Hermes changes to services

I've just had an email from Hermes which states:
"As a previous Hermes customer, we wanted to let you know that as of today, Hermes are no longer offering their Hermes Small and Medium parcel delivery services.
"As a previous Hermes customer, we wanted to let you know that as of today, Hermes are no longer offering their Hermes Small and Medium parcel delivery services.
They are still offering weight-based pricing services, including Hermes Postable for smaller items, which are all available on the Parcel2Go website.
The services have been removed from our website today. Any existing orders already placed will be processed as normal."

Well I have still not had delivery of a parcel (worth £45) I dropped off in May 30th to my Ebay buyer. They can't be contacted and do not answer messages. The status read "we've got it" as of this morning. Now tracking number does not work.
Hmmm, we don't currently have this tracking number in our network. This means your parcel is on the way to us, or the number is incorrect. Please check the details are correct and allow a little more time.
Just beware of these sharks.
If the buyer does not receive the item, will Ebay cover this as the tracking number was entered on my sale when I sent it ?0 -
I expect the volumes are simply too high for their network if RMs traffic is an indication of what they are getting.1

My local Hermes courier is great. Only issue I had of late was one delayed parcel early in lockdown.hubb said:

I've actually had more issues with Royal Mail this year than Hermes (including before the pandemic made its way over here). Our local driver is very good, infinitely better than the one we used to have a few years ago.custardy said:

I had that, but in an email from Parcel2Go, not directly from Hermes. I've used P2G a few times in the past when they've been cheaper than Hermes directly for larger items.

Because I'm nosey, I did go over to Hermes and log into my account, and I was able to send small and medium parcels of all the usual sizes from their website, so maybe they've just withdrawn small and medium parcel sending from these parcel broker websites? Or maybe I am (For once in my life!) lucky and still have the option to use them if I want to, for the same prices I've always paid.© Cuilean 2005. Mine's pretty good too. They seem to have continuity of delivery drivers which tells me they must be good to work for.custardy said:

All delivery services are struggling. I use UPS a lot and their next day service is usually a two day service now.

I know from the guys that (for Edinburgh anyway) Amazon have recently shunted a lot of traffic through Royal Mail Special Delivery.RFW said:

So I assume their own Amazon logistics is struggling. I had 2 packets due yesterday direct from Amazon.
1 arrived but the other has disappeared into the ether. No ETA and tracking ends with the item arriving in Edinburgh at 3am.0
