Irish Ferries still sailing but not carrying non essential travellers?

I've searched for an answer and can't find anything relating to my specific query so here goes:-
I have a booking with Irish Ferries, return trip UK to Eire with car and a friend, in July. I have been trying to get confirmation from Irish Ferries that they are able to proceed with my booking. The website says that they are still sailing "for haulage and essential travel purposes". I'm going on a holiday. I suspect that they wont carry us because we're not essential travellers, but they don't want to say that because that would mean that they are cancelling my booking and would therefore have to offer a refund rather than a credit note. They are not answering my emails and their telephone line is an 0871 no. which I refuse to use on principle (and they say only to call withing 72 hours of travel anyway). Can anyone advise?

Try contacting them on Facebook or Twitter - these are good at getting replies quickly. It worked well for me and P&O.1

That note on their website is simply echoing UK Govt advice that all non-essential international travel is 'advised against'. That means what it says: it's purely advisory. I very much doubt that anyone from IF is going to quiz you before boarding about your reason for travelling: the people who might do that would be the immigration officials here and in Eire.
There are currently no actual restrictions on Eire-UK travel, and no quarantine at either end.No free lunch, and no free laptop
