Electricity wayleave agreement
I recently contacted SSE regarding wayleave payments relating to my property. They came back with £150.04 for a 15 year agreement. It all seems very straight forward but I assume it means they can install/modify/access/etc any underground or overhead electrical equipment they wish. Is there a significant risk to signing this agreement? I live in a 20 year old house with an underground supply but I suppose they could install other equipment on my land if they so desired once I've signed?

The only time they are likely to want to come onto your land is for routine maintenance (if an overhead line) or an emergency fault repair. If in doing so they do significant damage they will pay compensation.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

So am I right in assuming that the wayleave only applies to the existing cables and that it doesn't give SSE the right to install additional equipment?0
