Hi all, looking to replace my old car with a Toyota Aeras Estima about 2010, petrol - not an import. Have you got one, had one and if so, what's your opinion? Thanks!

There are "official" as in built for the UK market and "grey" imports which are badged differently and essentially need to be converted e,g, Satnav not in Japanese. I think Toyota UK refuse to service them.

I thought the official import UK car was the Previa, and the grey JDM is the Aeras.  I think there is a difference in the transmission, Previa is cvt and the Aeras is 4 speed TC.
I had a mate with a JDM Lucida, it was a brilliant MPV, the seats reconfigure on slidy rails for conference, crewbus, camper, he had the diesel 4 speed TC, only 2wd and loved it. I think he cried for a week when it was stolen.
(Turns out they are so popular they are stolen to order- leave it in the same place twice and it goes :( )
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

It's a 10yo car, who cares whether the dealer chain services it...?

Aeras Estima will be Japanese-market import. Previa will be UK-market. But I think they discontinued UK market Previas years before 2010...

It is  GREY IMPORT, not a problem but it is a grey import, any dealer can service it, but may not want to/charge extra, our current rate (main dealer £120 + vat per hour, most service items available,  (Ive worked in a main dealer for 20+ years) some weird parts like window blinds are not.  its nothing like a previa in almost every respect,
