Hello 😊
I, like many others,  fell for a misleading ad on Facebook.  I ordered a security camera and got a 64mb sd card. I thought I was covered by PayPal but they were no help.  I repeatedly asked for their policy on false advertising but they didn't respond.  I am now waiting for what is supposed to be a picnic box and I am sure whatever I get will be amusing.  Can anyone advise me on the best way to approach them.  Tia

Which "them" are you talking about? Facebook? PayPal? The seller?

Have you actually opened a dispute through Paypal?  It's Item Not as Described.  Exactly what was the wording of the ad?
Why does anybody buy through FB?  Scammers' paradise.

Ho, thank you for the replies,  sorry I haven't been around for years.  I haven't had any money problems  :)
I have raised a dispute with PayPal and haven't even received the thing I ordered yet,  I got it to bring up the subject with PayPal as they were so useless before.  I just wanted to know if anyone else is trying to get them to do the right thing and not support these scams. I am aware that Martin Lewis took Facebook to court (almost) but what he achieved doesn't seem to be working.
I would like to know if I have the right to return it and any other useful information.  Thank you x

Did you send them money using the "Friends and family" option?

If you pay for named goods on PayPal and seller does not provide online delivery confirmation then you will get a refund. If you get the wrong goods then it does become more complicated but it can be done.

my one tip though is don’t buy from Far East sellers on Facebook, too many people are being blinded by low prices to buy rubbish items and no amount of warnings seems to stop them.

Exactly! and they should be stopped,  since lock up many older people have got online and are falling for these scams and I think something should be done , if anyone knows of a campaign or something that is trying to stop them please let me know 👍

I have a different take on this.
If you're not internet savvy, you shouldn't be buying anything from anybody online.

I'm not sure which group of people you mean by 'older people' but I'm 67 and never, ever buy anything from a company unless I've researched them and know they are genuine.
But then again, I don't do Facebook so they couldn't scam me even if I wasn't clued up.
