As the title says the spars of mynew quite expensive bed keep collapsing. My 18 stone frame probably doesn’t help matters - any suggestions

2 options spring to mind,
1)eat less calories
or
2)do more exercise0 -
Option 3) replace with thicker strips of timber.Option 4) 2x1 box steel.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
Option 5: Buy a divan type bed. There are sometimes very good ones in my local charity-based furniture outlet.

Option 6 - double the number of slates. With a wooden frame this shouldn't be a problem.Or just replace them with a sheet of plywood.0

Option 7 - contact the shop as that shouldn't happen.
I would just replace it with one or two pieces of wood, that way it's light enough to lift when you need access to the storage under it.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
They look like the ones that fit tightly into a plastic end cap that clips into the frame, every one of those I've seen has a bend to provide spring, are you sure the slats are the right way up?0

They're slats, not spars. They appear to have come out at the ends so check the frame is connected properly. The same happened to a friends bed, when the slats bend they are effectively shorter so come off the supports. I fixed it by putting 6mm mdf over the slats but this can go mouldy as mattresses need to breath. Preventing the slats moving too far out of the plastic end caps might work. Try refitting them making sure they're fitted equally across the bed.

Option 8 - reduce the amount of energetic lockdown nocturnal sporting activities on the bed.

Check the specification of the bed. Is there a weight limit?
