Furlogh

I am currently on furlough until the 22nd of this month but my father just past away on the 4th so can my employer start my bereavment on the 4th or will it start from the 22nd when I was due back to work

    Discuss with them and see what they want to do. I guess it would depend how desperate they are to have you back.

    There is no statutory provision for bereavement leave (except for the death of a child), so it depends on your contract of employment

    Depending on your contract you might find out that you are only in entitled to the day of the funeral. 

    As the others have said please speak to your employer, sorry for your loss.
