Travel insurance auto renewal refund?

Last week I got en email from travel insurance company saying my travel insurance was auto renewing. Double last year price and not needed this year obviously. I straight away tried to get in contact with them to tell them I didn't ant to renew. To my shock - i checked my bank account and they had taken the money out of my account already. I understand that I am due a 14 day cooling off period. I have been phoning and emailing them to try and get in contact to get a refund but cannot get through. The money was taken out of my current account - Are my bank able to get this money back for me or am I going to have to keep chasing the company? Also am i correct in saying I should get a refund especially as there was no advance notice of the renewal of the price.
Thanks

So you wont be going away at all between now and next June?
Your bank can reverse the CPA payment, just keep the emails showing the cancellation request.0 -
Not sure there is an automatic cooling off period for renewals.0
