Ryanair and cost to change flight

hi, we have a holiday booked with OnThebeach July 31st to Costa Dorada. They are happy for us to change those dates and go next year as we don’t want to go at the moment and can’t do the 14 days isolation when get back either - but basically at the moment we just don’t want to go to an expensive all inclusive holiday that won’t be what we dreamt of. The flights are with Ryanair and Onthebaech are telling us we HVe to contact them directly and change them and that they won’t do that bit. Ryanair are saying we have to pay £320 to change flights and those flights don’t even go to the same airport as they don’t have a schedule for the airport we have on the original flights. Is there anything we can do?

You could wait for Ryanair to cancel the flight and then get it changed for free .
Otherwise that is their standard fees and it's you choosing to move your holiday.
By the way it's most unlikely that the 14 day exclusion will stay in place on arrival back in the UKEx forum ambassador

I am thinking I will have to pay to change but have also noted that easyJet are allowing changes through until August so is it just Ryanair being awkward?0

Why can I see on forums that there are posts from others who have cancelled flights in July to Barcelona but our flights have not been cancelled. I am very happy to take vouchers or change flights just don’t want to go in July.

No, they are just being Ryanair, and trying to maximise their load factors in July. And avoid refunding you this year...dizzyhead_2 said:I am thinking I will have to pay to change but have also noted that easyJet are allowing changes through until August so is it just Ryanair being awkward? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Ryanair now saying if you have booked a flight now for July 31 then you can move your flight to a later date for no charge but as I booked my flights a long time ago I can’t do this! I have to pay £40 each way for each flight to change them! Then pay the extra cost for the new flights I want! Basically the cost of the flights anyway! How can this be and what can I do?

A roughly similar situation - in January we booked a long weekend in Spain for 10th July. We were due to stay with friends who have a villa there, but they had their travel cancelled and will only be getting there later in July now.
I don't want to cancel and get a refund, just be able to move the booking to later in the year. But the cost of doing so for 4 is nearly the cost of the flights themselves.
As you say, Ryanair are offering free changes for people booking now, but seem to be refusing free changes for those who booked before all this kicked off.
I don't think they're going to cancel the flight as they're still taking bookings - and the doubly-annoying thing is, the exact flights are now cheaper than when we bought them.0 -
I’m not sure if I’m understanding you correctly, but if Ryanair have changed the airport you are flying to you may well be entitled to a refund, as that would be a ‘significant change.’ Is there a different flight number?dizzyhead_2 said:hi, we have a holiday booked with OnThebeach July 31st to Costa Dorada. The change is airport is for changing the flight dates to next year,( so a new booking) not for this year's holiday.Nebulous2 said:

Ryanair haven’t changed the airport, I will have to if I choose to change as there are no flights up for Reus next year only Barcelona.0

Less flights will result in less available routes. The smaller airports will no doubt take the brunt of the cuts. As Ryanair won't want to lose their allocated slots at the major airports.dizzyhead_2 said:Ryanair haven’t changed the airport, I will have to if I choose to change as there are no flights up for Reus next year only Barcelona.0
