Nat West £175 switch fee issue

My wife & I have both switched our personal current accounts to Nat West to take up the £175 switch offer. Whilst those switches were in progress through Feb & Mar we then also applied to switch our joint account and that finally took place in April. We thought the terms on the Nat West website meant we'd get £175 each for the personal current account moves and joint accounts weren't included for a switch fee. We then made sure we qualified for the switch fees on the personal current accounts by meeting the other transactional requirements. We didn't think that the joint account would complicate matters otherwise we'd not have made that switch until post June 5th.

Last week, Nat West paid out only one £175 and into our joint account. On contacting them today I've been told that as we have both have access to the joint account we are only entitled to one lot of £175 between us. I mentioned that we switched individual current accounts first and that joint accounts weren't included for the switch fee as per their website but I've only been advised to make a formal complaint.

Has anyone else had a similar issue or does anyone have any advice?
