I’ve opened an account with Shawbrook bank to invest £40000 but my bank won’t sanction the payment as they say it may be fraudulent. If I go ahead with the payment it’s not covered. How do I know if the Shawbrook is ok?

Do you mean that the account details don't pass the Confirmation of Payee checks imposed by your bank when trying to make an electronic bank transfer? These checks aren't renowned for their accuracy due to the way this has been implemented by some institutions and not others, but you should be OK as long as you're following the exact instructions provided by Shawbrook - however, it might be more prudent to send a small test payment first, or even pay by cheque?2
