Any dishwasher engineers?

Hi all. I put the dishwasher on last night and the house rcd tripped. Unplugged it to restore power for everything else and left it til this morning. Emptied the dishwasher to wash pots by hand 😖 and discovered that the lower spray arm retaining nut had unscrewed itself!? Obviously widdling water onto whatever's under it and tripping the leccy 😕
So, anyone any idea what would cause this, and can it be saved?!😊
TIA

float switch built into the base of the machine should have switched the dishwasher off before anything nasty happened.

You mean before it tripped the leccy?

I think it stopped filling (judging by the little amount of water I see) so maybe the float switch did work and stopped the machine, but the water leakage caused the trip?

Not all dishwashers have a float switch in the base. Refit the nut, do it up tight. If there is water in the base dry it out. Switch on & see what happens.

Thanks 😊 I unscrewed the base - that's where all the water was 🙄 (along with apparently most of my dog's hair 🤨) So using towels and a hairdryer, I had a go at drying it out. Left it for a couple of hours - and it's back working perfectly!😁 Just goes to show,  if there's nothing to lose, why not have a go?!
    Thanks all 😊
