Front shock absorbers

Fair panda 2016 - MOT fail today, front 2 shock absorbers leaking excessively, needing replaced
Quoting me £450! Something to do with have to order direct form fiat. Does this seem right?

There must be something special about them for it to be from Fiat only - but then 2 of my cars do have the same requirement in that you can only get them from the manufacturer too. 
If this really is the case, £450 for a pair fitted isn't too bad - one my cars is £400 per front damper (parts only, without fitting). 

I have to say though, I find it odd that something like a Panda wouldn't just be fitted with generic 'fits all models of Panda' dampers available from anywhere.

Does the £450 include fitting?
Google suggests that £65-£70 for the pair (OEM) is the ballpark. Fiat may (read: will) indeed be more expensive, but who is insisting that Fiat parts need to be installed?

just the garage that did the MOT....going to put it out see if anyone can quote better.

I'd want a second opinion.  I'd be disappointed with shocks only lasting 4 years.

£450 is pretty outrageous.
It's not under warranty any more, so they've no reason at all to insist on Fiat parts.
Good quality like Monroe will do you fine, and fitting is relatively easy with the right tools, shouldn't take that long.
