Missed water bill payment..weeks/months before applying for a mortgage

So today I got an alert from credit Karma telling me I had a missed payment. I was certain they were wrong. Upon checking I realised I had forgotten to pay the water bill. Not a huge amount (£156) .
Gutted is a understatement as the rest of my credit history and that of my wife is exemplary.
Not that it matters but the reason for the mixed payment was that I was recently diagnosed with cancer and I just simply forgot.
Can anyone suggest what impact this may have on my mortgage application?

It just means you should use a decent broker so your application gets placed correctly to avoid the more picky lenders.0

One late payment should not greatly impact your suitability.
Suggest you put your water bill (and other utility bills) onto DD to avoid this in future though? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yes just the one late payment in 6 years! Jo defaults or anything. Very low debt utilisation and 15% deposit. I feel like such an idiot. I am tempted to call the water company and plead with them and tell then my circumstances. But I know the marker is an accurate representation. Maybe someone will take pityMEM62 said:
