Expedia Refunds

Booked a return flight to Lima Peru with Iberia / British Airways through Expedia. I found out that the flights had been cancelled by the airlines on May 14 with an email from Expedia promising me details of credit for this which never arrived. Trying to find out the situation a month later I contacted Expedia and after some discussion I was promised that Expedia would ask the airline for a refund. The timescale was ludicrous 2 to 12 weeks so a month later with no sign of a refund I decided to contact Iberia. It was at this that I discovered from Iberia that they had not received payment from Expedia for the flight which left me wondering why it taking so long to refund my money. Has anyone else had a similar experience with either Expedia these airlines or both. Any advice would be most gratefully received.

Expedia are a nightmare, one of the most complained about TA I've seen on here.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

I was flying VA booked through Expedia - both sides telling me the other party needs to do a refund. So I've done a chargeback request with my CCC.0
