From: Scotland on Sunday:

CHRISTMAS shoppers have seen the time given to pay off credit card bills slashed by the Royal Bank of Scotland. (Including MINT & NatWest).

Millions of customers will effectively have just 10 days after January 2 to clear their balances before being hit by interest charges and late payment fees.

I have a Tesco card which is administered by RBOS so I am assuming that may be affected as well.

My New Years resolution is to have a clear out of some of my cards.
One in particular is a COOP card with a 15,000 limit and have not used it for 2 years.

I don't think this change in T&C's affects ALL RBS products.

I think it's RBS's older products (e.g. RBS Worldwide Card) which are no longer available to apply for... that are being changed from a 25 day repayment cycle to 15 days. I guess this is probably with an attempt to try and shove people onto their mainstream products... but still not a very nice thing to do at all esp during xmas!!

p.s. Mable, Tesco cards already have a 15 day repayment cycle anyway.

Me thinks provided you set up a dd and keep within their terms and conditons it a good card to hold. They are always sending through promotional rates and waiving the bt fee for me.

Also if they do change payment dates without warning you have safety of the direct debit.

Depends which card you have. Whilst the 'clubcard' is 46 days, the 'bonus' card is a much better 56 days.

I’d hope all those affected have already been notified. Below is the relevant section from the November NatWest credit card Notice of Variation that I received. I think the change is for all NatWest credit cardholders. Mine is just a regular NatWest credit card account. It is old and I get issued with both a Visa and a Mastercard card for a single credit account. It looks like a new applicant would receive just one card, but, other than that, it appears no different to what’s on their website today.
