Air Asia Domestic Flights

I was due to attend a wedding in Thailand in July, which has since been postponed until December (though I can’t see that happening either) but I will be unable to attend the December date if it goes ahead. Thai Airways have cancelled my flight in the last few days and I have gone through the process of asking them for a refund for my flight (even though their quoted 6 months to get a refund seems a very long time!).
I had also booked a domestic flight with Air Asia for whilst I was in Thailand to travel to the beach for a few days however as I now cannot (and will not) travel to Thailand for the wedding, my flights are redundant. I have asked Air Asia for a refund (3 times) but they are not playing ball as all their flights are “non-refundable” as a low cost airline and they are offering me a credit account facility for 730 days.

Does anyone have any advice on where I stand on this? I paid via MasterCard so am I able to request a chargeback?

Is the internal flight cancelled?

Unfortunately, they are now back to flying these domestic flights. I assume that they’ve made the decision to operate them so they don’t have to refund everyone by cancelling. I understand that I probably have no rights to a refund if the flight itself is still going ahead though if I can’t actually access the country then it’s a bit of an anomaly.0

Sadly one of those things, if it flies then then they have fulfilled the contract, so you are unlikely to get any joy from your card.
