Locked in a Room Escape Experience - sent vouchers and now will not provide a refund

I booked 10 places at an Escape Room for my Sons 21st.  It was booked for 28th March but when it became clear that they would not be in a position to open I asked for a refund.  I was offered to "Delete my booking and receive vouchers" I was not given the option for a refund so I accepted this.  3 months on with no update on when they may be able to open or even if they will open again I requested a refund again as the occasion as long since passed. I have been told that as I accepted vouchers they can no longer issue a refund.  Can I demand a refund?

Anyone had similar experiences?

What do the T's & C's state? I must admit i wouldn't have booked anything at all on that date, that was after the lockdown was put into place, you were taking rather a big risk.

I read that as OP booked for 28th March - as in that was the day it was due to take place.

    OP, how did you pay?

You booked to take part in an activity where you are trapped in a puzzle with no obvious way to escape.  You are getting the super extended version at no extra cost.

I don't think you were obligated to accept vouchers, but now that you have then the rights to a refund are possibly reduced.  What do the Ts&Cs say on the vouchers?  There is also content about this under the travel guide and the competition investigation into cancellations - it does not specifically cover escape rooms, but the principles apply.

EDIT - here is the link to the guide:

Maybe the OP is concerned about the business re-opening?

The chances are if they are not going to re-open they won't be issuing refunds anyway.
