Redundancy

Have you thought that the newest member of staff is the person they can most easily get rid of in future as she has under 2 years service and so no job security?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

They only have to have a fair system for selecting who to make redundant, I don’t think they have to share it with you.
It might be the new person is cheaper. With the exception of you personally feeling you are better than the person they kept on and that they are friends with the management do you have any other evidence that the process was done unfairly as both of them will be pretty hard to prove.

19 people were made redundant, and there are 2 employees in my position remaining out of over 20(UK based) . Future redundancies are surely going to happen, and the company has been shifting work to a overseas call centre for cheap labour for the last year.
However I'm unsure how I can make this point relevant in regards to it being Easy to make her redundant in future, especially if they claim she stays because she beats everyone else's score0 -
Probably not much you can do really with the amount of people that were made redundant. It is a lot easier to prove it was done badly if only one or two people were made redundant rather than 95% of the people doing the job. Think you be best accepting it and putting your effort into moving on.

Having experienced claiming job seekers allowance many years ago, which is a complete joke as they make you apply for so many jobs a week or risk losing your benefits, I am on the brink of redundancy and the thought of going down that road again terrifies the life out of me , as there will be so many in the same boat, is the government making alternate plans?0

JSA can be a pain, but the experience does depend on the advisor you get - I claimed in 2015 and the advisor I had was brilliant and gave really good advice and motivational support. If your financial position is as dire as you suggest, then you need to claim the JSA in any case. I doubt that the Government is making any different plans, but there may be further support available other than just JSA via the UC system.
I also suggest that you prepare a SoA (Statement of Affairs) and share in the DFW forum for any advice.0
