No, you need the reference number on the V5 as well. You can attempt to find out from the model and year, but sometimes the emissions changed part way through a model year and it can be wrong.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Depending on if it was first registered as a LCV or car. LCV will have a lower VED.1

I believe the only way to do that is through the gov vehicle tax page if you have the V5 number. I think it is a straight light commercial vehicle rate though. https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/other-vehicle-tax-rates

I have an app on my phone called Vehicle Smart - I've just put the reg of a random 2008 Ford Ranger in, and it's given me back a VED rate of £265 per year.
Give that a try1 -
Wow that’s great thanks everybody, mattyprice I’ll take your word £265 is the region I imagined it to be in.. hopefully fuel might stay as cheap as it is now for a while !Thanks again0
