Builders error

The flat above me are having a new kitchen installed. On Thursday eve I went to get clothes out for work and they were wet. All my clothes in my cupboard were, and my shoes. I also had cards and photos in my cupboard. They had knocked a radiator and it had been leaking through the ceiling! Their response was, it’s only water! I have spent all weekend washing all my clothes and now have tonnes to iron. I have lost a lot of Birthday cards and photos I had been keeping sentimentally. Surely I can get some compensation?

Yes you can. 'It's only water' is the response usually associated with a moron. Have a friendly word with the neighbour to sort it out.
I know Domestos kills 99% of germs, but I'm worried about the 1% that got away.

It might be sorted out by via the upstairs neighbour's good will, but what if it isn't? It sounds as if they employed the fitters and aren't the person who caused the leak. Exactly how would you pursue matters then?
Are you seriously suggesting the OP makes a claim for compensation based on doing extra washing and losing some photos? It's not possible to assign  value to 'sentimental,' which is why all photos should be backed-up these days. Yes I know most of us don't, but we should.

With corrosion inhibitors included along with metal particles in suspension.. Using the Fernox data sheet as a reference, the main ingredients of the inhibitor are: Sodium molybdate dihydrate, Benzotriazole, and Propylene glycol.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
