if you just want to be close to the southeastern. why not go to falconwood/south welling/bexleyheath. it is much better area I think.1

Bexley is very nice, but may be too far out. Don't think there's much difference between Eltham and Bexleyheath except the latter is further out. Not so keen on Welling.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

I found south welling a nice area ( next to danson park ) . I found it better than eltham and much better than kidbrooke.1

I’m with hazyjo, not keen on Welling. I think houses round Falconwood are going to be too expensive.

I am not talking about all welling. just the area next to danson park and bexley grammar. Agree that the north part is not that good.0

Would be surprised if it's in budget, but haven't looked. Did say Bexley would be good, but it's pricey and possibly too far out.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

If looking a bit further out then it might be worth looking at Abbey Wood. But it’s a tight budget and there isn’t going to be a lot of choice anywhere. Of the houses mentioned so far I think my choice would be the original in Kidbrooke or the Progress Estate one. Houses on the ex LCC estate are well built but frankly much of the area is quite scabby.1

obviously we have different opinions about the area. I don't like at all all the area woolwich, abbey wood, Belvedere, Erith..
Anyways, I found this map not bad. i post it , it may help.
