August self employed grant/ No interest overdraft

Is there any chance that the interest free overdraft offered by the banks might be extended? It would be really handy. For example, take out a £500 overdraft over 90 days and pay it back from the self employed grant paid in August interest free. For a small amount it would be a lot less hastle than having to apply for a bounce back loan which would force you to borrow a minimum of £2000? I may be mistaken, but from what I can understand the interest free overdraft scheme ends on 9th of July. Any overdfraft still in place and not paid back after that date will be subject to an interest rate of around 40%.

I think it is unlikely, it was a short term measure whilst other measure were put into place, now the grants are feeding through and you have the option of CBILs and BBLs, as well as mortgage holidays and other debt holidays the need to extend the scheme is no longer there.
You are correct that the 40% (or there abouts) rate for overdrafts will kick in after the free period expires.1
