Is banking with TSB a bad idea?

The bank you're with has zero effect on your creditworthiness

If you apply for credit you will almost certainly be asked how long you have held your current account. Switching your account may well reduce your chances of a loan being approved.thefunnyman said:
i'm very happy with the account but i'm just worried banks/providers wont lend to me because my current account is with TSB

so i've just gone onto natwest and applied for a loan, but beforehand i called and asked them does my current account provider effect the application, they said yes but not TSB, but they said people with monzo, starling and revolut accounts in particular they dont really like lending money to, nothing about TSB so i applied and got accepted for the loan (£2,500) and got advertised rate

One more good reason to stay well clear of Natwest.thefunnyman said:......they said people with monzo, starling and revolut accounts in particular they dont really like lending money to1 -
Anyone having issues paying payments from TSB today?0

We stuck with our TSB Classic (joint) account through all the mayhem and have been with them since leaving Nationwide, after NW closed our local branch. We did not really have a problem during the issues, because we have a very good local branch, where the staff are good, efficient and welcoming, even during the current situation. Banking with them has been safe for us and yes, we only have our one current account at TSB, but two Savings accounts with a Building Society. This works for us and atm we see no need to switch or start an additional account with another bank. We are fortunate in that we have no need or intention to take out a loan, but if we wished to do so, we would use the TSB. It is not High Finance and does not pretend to be, but for most ordinary banking needs, it's fine.
I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Was being very glitchy in Chrome (no accounts showing, errors making payments). Worked in Firefox though so got myself sorted.ischris85 said:dcs34 said:Anyone having issues paying payments from TSB today?
I've made two bank transfers today from my TSB to Starling account without issue.
Always nice of TSB to give a bit of excitement...0 -
I would happily put up with their ‘excitement’ of losing access for a week or so if they compensate us with 5% interest on the current account as they did last time. Sadly I don’t see that happening!!dcs34 said:
