Are you due a Virgin Atlantic Refund?

I'm trying to accertain whether ANYONE has actually had a refund from Virgin Atlantic for a cancelled flight as I'm of the belief that they haven't refunded ANYONE or very few people and I want to highlight this with the CAA and Consumer Direct / Government.

I've inserted options for the month your flight was due and if you've had a refund or not. This is just monetary refunds not vouchers etc.
regards

Mark

I recently did a 24 hour poll on FB of Virgin Atlantic customers for flights only. Of the 260 responses I received not one (ZERO) had received a refund !

I’m wondering if the response above that was refunded in April actually got their refund direct from Virgin or if it was from chargeback or Section 75.  There is very little evidence anywhere on social media to indicate that the refund process is actually in progress!
  • Does anyone know how to change you result I clicked not refunded and it’s put refunded up

Due to fly 21st March. Flight cancelled and refund agreed, but 90 day to process refund. Due to exceptional circumstances I was happy to wait. Today I have received a further email stating another 50 days until refund. Call me cynical - but this is taking me beyond the 120 day limit to make a S75 claim on my credit card company.

Yep I just recieved the same email today saying 40 days that would take me to the 120 days

6 years is the time limit for a S75,  120 days for a Chargeback.

Worth checking their own Ts&Cs... https://www.virginholidays.co.uk/important/terms-and-conditions
"10.2. Most changes are insignificant but occasionally, we may have to make a significant change. If we have to make a significant change or cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible. We will tell you the procedure for making your choice. Please read any notification of changes carefully and respond promptly as if you do not respond to us within the timescale given, your booking may be cancelled. We will offer you the choice of the following options:

    (a) (For significant changes) accepting the changed arrangements, or

    (b) Purchasing alternative arrangements from us, of a similar standard to those originally booked if available (if the chosen alternative is less expensive than your original one, we will refund the difference but if it is more expensive, we will ask you to pay the difference), or

    (c) Cancelling or accepting the cancellation in which case you will receive a full and quick refund of all monies you have paid to us."

This feels like breach of contract?

  • Might be a stupid question but how do you even request a refund? I've had my cancellation email a few days ago but it doesn't state anywhere how you request a refund instead of the open ticket / voucher.
