Windows 10 Mail App Broken for Gmail users

I have discovered over the last few days that outgoing emails from my Gmail account within Windows 10 Mail App are ending up in my own Spam Folder.

In trying to figure out what the problem was, I have come across this thread on "Gmail Help" which might be of interest to others who are experiencing the same issue.

Fortunately I have Outlook 2016 on my desktop so its not too much of a problem.

Not sure whether there is any connection with the recent Windows 10 2004 feature update which I installed last week

It's working OK here (just done a test). It's been working since the 2004 update with no problems using the Mail App.

Its bizarre. Just sent an email from Mail App Gmail account to my Yahoo account. Received in the Yahoo inbox no problem, but no sign of it in Gmail "sent" folder. As described in first post, it had arrived in Gmail spam folder. Must be some sort of mapping issue with Gmail accounts within Mail App, but only for some it appears.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled, no change. Calendar working fine.

Weirdly, it's now started doing the same on mine.....I don't send that many using Gmail, so I'll wait for a MS fix.

"The work around is to delete the Gmail account from the App"  There used to be a time when the thought of deleting an email account would bring me out in a cold sweat.  Thank goodness for IMAP (but I am aware that there are many who still cling to their beloved POP :-)
