Well I hoovered it. Although I’m sure bits of glass will continue to appear. Door isn’t rattling so I think they took panels off properly. But noticed a gap between the rubber seals on the outside of window and the door metal. Also the rubber seal is visually bumpy along the length of the window so  looks like it wasn’t fitted properly. Thanks for responses. I have already paid so not much I can do about that. In answer to one of the questions - he got the window from another customers car. They were taping the cars window up when I arrived. I asked what they would tell the owner and the guy said that he would not tell him.

I will contact the him on Monday and ask him to sort out the rubber seals.

If you really must put your hand back in the fire, do not let your car out of your sight, then if they fix it run, not walk, away and don't ever go near them again.

What happens if you leave it with them and they have no choice but to smash part of the engine in someone else's car and your engine is the same?
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

So they have stolen another customers window to fix your car. That window carries a security code that links it back to the original car. You have accepted stolen goods. Their resolution of this situation is not acceptable.

The lumpy glass rubber suggests they have not fitted it properly. What else have they messed up.

The rubbers around the door don't get touched in replacing a broken opening window glass.

The window may or may not carry a security code.

There is clearly no theft, as there is clearly no intent to permanently deprive the other vehicle's owner of the glass - it's simply a way to get yours back on the road without the delay of waiting for the replacement part to arrive.

Given the glass is now in the OP's car I would say the owner has been permanently deprived of the glass. I would also say their honesty is questionable.

This is why I keep my car well away from garages. 30min for an MOT test every year is quite long enough.
