Barclaycard complaints do not respond

It's been my job to (amongst other things) remain on site and maintain the District and Community Hospital's IT infrastructure and equipment, including on wards and in theatres.mcpitman said:
I am being facetious to a point, but getting sick of back office NHS/key worker staff claiming they are risking their lives, sat at home in their frickin dining room.
You'd probably be less fed up if you didn't concern yourself with false assumptions about what others are or aren't doing.1 -
Oh the irony, from someone who thinks an international bank can restructure itself successfully and maintain service levels during a global pandemic.Fighter1986 said:

Eventually got a response from a secure message and they have now unblocked the card. Took them only two and a half months. Thanks to cymruchris for the tip about secure messages.cymruchris said:When you log in to Barclaycard via an internet browser, you can connect with them via secure message through the help section.

Glad you got it resolved. I like the secure message system, as it keeps a record of the fact you've sent a message, when you sent it, and exactly what you said. In normal times it's not as quick as a phone call, but things are a bit on their head at the moment, so it actually seems the quickest, easiest way to reach them.peterinreading said:

Had a text from the bank telling me that my fathers (92yrs old) was overdrawn. It appears that his life savings have gone from his current account but also his Barclays Card has been used to the tune of thousands and has automatically been paid by direct debit. We don't know what this money was spent on.I have contacted Barclays and they have stopped the card. Before we start calling in the police and pointing the finger, I want to make sure its not him but and here is my problem.I have a Power of Attorney for my father but I did not register it with Barclays but did with his bank. Barclays are now saying I have to register the POA with them. I am shielding and unable to leave my house. I have waited for 1hour35mins on the phone line to speak to someone for some help but have given up.Any advice or help would be gratefully received.0

Does your father still have capacity to make his own decisions? There is a process at the moment where they can arrange a temporary third party authority access without having to go into branch. However you would both have to fill out sections of a form and they would have to contact your father to confirm he is happy for you to have access to the accounts. Also if you are not a Barclays customer yourself you probably won’t be able to do this as you would need to be identified on the system presenting proof of ID and address verification in branch. In terms of the power of attorney, then it is something that would need to be registered in a branch, they would need to see the original or a certified copy of the POA document, and also to identify you as mentioned above0
