Obviously furlough has been extended till October. If my employer would like be to return at the beginning of July, is there anyway you are able to ask to be furloughed until October?

You can ask, but furlough is not a right so they are able to refuse.
It is unlikely that any business will furlough employees in August, September and October if there is profitable work to be done as in those months it will cost them increasing amounts even if they do not top up to 100%.
If the employer wants you back and you ask to stay on furlough unless you have a very good reason (eg. high risk group) then it is likely that will be taken negatively. They also may not be able to afford to pay the additional costs for workers who are non-productive as they are on furlough and on top of that if they are looking to make redundancies it is likely that anyone who asks to stay off work will be regarded as top of the list when redundancy comes around.
My opinion is that anyone asked to go back should unless they are in the extreme at risk groups, otherwise there will probably not be a job for them to go back to.1 -
Think of it if you were an employer and you wanted an employee back and they asked to remain on furlough what would you do? Come August it is going to start costing employers a fair bit more then just a bit of holiday pay. Any particular reason why you would want to remain on furlough? If you are high risk and they decide to take you of the furlough scheme you are eligible for SSP.0
