Furlough

Having signed an email offer of contract in November 19, following my notice period, I started a new position 2nd March. With coronavirus occurring, the company furloughed me as my role was newbusiness. In order to do this they told me they were changing my contract in order that I would be below the amount under the government retention scheme, this has equated to a 60% reduction. They top it up by £500, gross amount now being £3,000 per month.
Upon having conversations about restarting they're now saying that they will not put me back to my original salary, or provide the car allowance as they do not believe I can put business on. They are saying  that they will start me from 1st July part time work/ part time furlough, how will this work with my income? I feel that I have no choice as the salary is greater than dole money , with them now changing the role as they wish to put a substantial new businnes target, which really is unachievable. Ive also worked my way up in this sector for over 25years and feel as if I've been taken back to when I first started work.
I'd appreciate any advice.

Current furlough scheme runs to 31st July. From 1st August the scheme starts to step down.  This recession is going to create many challenges for employees and employers alike. Both have a vested interest in seeing the business survive. However difficult it maybe. Working constructively is the most appropriate course of action. As no one is indispensible. There's always some else willing to do your role. Hopefully as the weeks pass and economic activity slowly grows. Your hours will return to normal.

In terms of your income, you'll be paid at your full contractual rate for the time that you're working and the reduced furlough rate for the time that you're not working. There's an example here: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/04/employed-help-coronavirus-furlough/#july
