Confused Opodo

To be brief: Due to travel to Tokyo in July (originally for the Olympics). Booked flights via Opodo with Singapore airlines. Also paid for the ‘Cancel for any reason’ protection.
1) Singapore airlines are refunding up to end of July with no fees, but as we booked via Opodo can we cancel for Free? I can’t make sense of the website.
2) Could we still use the ‘cancel for any reason’ if the flights go ahead but we can’t travel? it says not valid for force majeure. Could we use a different reason such as Olympic dates moving?
3) I know we should wait for flights to be cancelled but they’ve adjusted one of the flights this week so I feel like it’s unlikely.

4) we hadn’t booked insurance yet as we were going to get annual insurance to cover another trip just under a year later. Hence why we paid for the ‘cancel for any reason’ extra with Opodo in the meantime.
So confused with what to do, wish the govt In both countries would say for definite ‘You can not visit ont hose dates’ so we could then start the ball rolling. I’ve heard Opodo aren’t dealing with people until 5 days before their flights.

Any thoughts/tips/advice?

So the bottom bit says if we cancel we lose 20% and the money we paid for the guarantee. But the the top bit says they will refund those in case of a force majeure.....I know the pandemic counts as force majeure but can we use the pandemic then as the reason for our ‘cancel for any reason’ and get the full amount back?! I’m so confused!0 -
I agree it looks confusing
I feel it's just a waiting game.
If the flights are cancelled you at some point get the money back from them
If not I would have thought you could claim because Olympics have moved or force majeure , but looking unsure if you have to pay the 20%

Thank you, I just wish I could drop them an email and ask what the options are instead of all these games and hoops to jump through.Life__Goes__On said:I agree it looks confusing

Anything to do with insurance is always the hardest to deal with, as so many different policies.
Another route you could go down if it comes to it if the insurance doesn't pay out, you can complain you were mis-sold as you bought a ‘Cancel for any reason’ policy, so should be no exclusions.

I’ve messaged Opodo just asking what my options are. I feel sick with worry about this.0
