Claiming back for working from home

Hi all,
Hope everyone is doing as best as can be during these awful times.
I've been looking into what I am entitled to while working from home and found that I could potentially claim back £6/week tax. However, how does this essentially work given that my home isn't a registered place of business and therefore I am not covered under house insurance and registered with my Local Authority to use the house as a place of work? Or am I over-thinking it and these matters don't apply, especially given these exceptional circumstances?
Also I've been working from home since 23rd March, using electricity for my work laptop (albeit minimal given the small amount of power it consumes) so would I be able to claim this back and realistically has anyone had any meaningful success with claiming this back from their employer?
My workplace is going through a pretty tough time at the moment and redundancies are likely (though I am very thankful as a family man that I've already been told I'm not one of those at risk). Therefore I'm not about to approach my employer if we're only talking a few pounds. However (much as it sounds like a scam), a service I saw on Facebook called TaxRefunded estimated I could be entitled to £220?
Thanks in advance and stay safe all.

It's probably wise not to approach the employer.
You can still claim the tax allowance via your tax return. It's worth £1.20 per week basic rate or double if you pay higher rate income tax.0 -
