Vanquis payment holiday mess up

My husband applied for a 3 month payment freeze on his vanquis card, he's a musician so all work has ceased. They granted it a day before his April payment was taken so he knew that one would go out. A few days ago they also took his May payment. We queried it to be told that his freeze period is April to June with payments starting again in July and if he wants a refund he has to contact his bank!  He is going to cancel his direct debit as he has no trust that the June payment also won't be taken. He is £400 out as he overpays by quite a lot. Why should he gave to chase it up when it is the card issuer's error?

    Do you have written evidence that they granted the payment holiday, complete with the dates? If so, open a complaint.
