Chargeback problem

Hi all. I paid for a cruise using my Debit card last December. Obviously the cruise has been cancelled and I am still waiting for my refund - 65 days and counting. The problem I have is that just before lockdown I switched my bank from Santander to Natwest. I know my refund will be sent to me as a cheque so I'm not worried about getting the refund - but I'm getting really frustrated with the wait. I'm aware I could use the Chargeback process - but how can I do that when I used my Debit Card from Santander and the card and account do not exist any more?
Just wondering if anyone has any advice please. Many thanks.

Not sure about a Chargeback but you can do a Section 75 on a closed account, can't see why it would be any different.
Although closed I believe the account still exists for a period of time
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

I think you may have to wait for the cheque - unless Santander will do a chargeback for you on the closed card (though they may not, it's not a legal requirement for them to do so as a S75 would be)0 -
That's why I said I wasn't sure but you can with a s75 I wasn't suggesting the OP try a s75 ( I would have stated why don't you try a S75, if I was suggesting it)withaspritz said:
