Oh quick question that I hope someone will answer for me.
Am I best changing CC1,2 &3 to just pay minimum payments and then move the rest onto the direct debit for CC4?

It's worth phoning the credit card company about the £12 charge, tell them a story, anything, you've been unwell, the dog died, stress at work, whatever. Often they will refund the money.

    Every penny counts, right?

If it was in my name I would do that but as it’s DHs he wouldn’t 🙁 He hates phoning anyone at all, even getting him to phone cable provider to cancel movies after the offer ended and the bill shot up from £63 to £96 was a nightmare.

After discussing things with DH we have decided to apply for a further 3 months mortgage holiday. This will then enable us to pay £1200 extra off CC4 in 3 months.
I hope this was the right thing to do.
Once the debts are cleared I would like to try and build up 3 months wages and then start overpaying the mortgage. We only have 9years 3 months remaining.
I would love to be debt and mortgage free by the time I’m 50 (I will be 43 next month)

Our debts as they stand are:
    CC1 6228.85 (Think poss 0%)
    CC2 6154.57
    CC3 4727.88 (0%)
    CC4 2485.00
    CC5  483.28
    Loan 4070.50 (15.9%) final payment 1/7/22
    catalogue 798.00

Update on the above debts, they now stand at
    CC1 6166.56 (0% until 3/22)
    CC2 5916.73 (19.9%)
    CC3 4677.88 (0% until 7/22)
    CC4 2281.51 (29.9%)
    CC5 0.00 😀
    Loan 3924.12 (15.9% until 7/22)
    Catalogue 0.00 😀

We have also had confirmation that the mortgage payment holiday has gone through for a further 3 months so that will be an extra £1200 to pay towards CC4 and I have checked that the direct debit has definitely been set up for this months payment. I
I will get paid on Friday for a long day extra in work so that will get straight off CC4 as well. I asked manager if there will be extras coming up and she said that there should be as a few of the staff are still shielding for another month. Fingers crossed that I can actually get some of them as you have to be quick and I’m now off work for the next few days.
I have also requested to work a couple of Sunday’s each month So I can get the extra enhancements.
A work friend wants me to make her a cheesecake and traybake this week so that will be extra money to go into our emergency box, that will take that up to over £700.

I am also waiting to hear if our holiday is being cancelled. I really don’t want to postpone it as I would rather have the money paid back onto the credit cards. I know we will then have to find the cash to pay my dad back (he was coming with us and paid his share to me via cheque which I stupidly spent on nothing and then paid on the credit cards 🙁) I just hope that he will be happy to wait for it.

    Evening.

Just in the middle of making a cheesecake and a traybake for one of my work friends. So that will be extra money in the emergency box.
Just had a call from another work friend asking me if I wanted a shift tomorrow. So after thinking that there was no extras and actually looking forward to 4 full days off im now doing a long day so I’ve had 2 days off a day in and then a day off lol. Oh well it’s an extra £100+ off CC4. The only thing is as I wasn’t expecting to be in work I have nothing in for my tea tomorrow. I will have breakfast before I leave and then a tin of soup for my lunch but unless I can find something in the cupboards that I can take in it will mean a spend of about £2.50 on a jacket spud.
I actually really love my job even tho it’s a killer for my poor feet and I love being able to pay money off the debts each Friday.

Evening all, hope you are all well 😀
Back from work and I was asked to do another extra tomorrow. I have said no as that would mean working 4 14 hour shifts on the run which is really really hard physically and mentally.
Checked my payslip for the extra I did last week and I got pain £94 something so I will round this up to £100 and make an overpayment tomorrow. Love seeing the debts coming down albeit slowly.

Buildings & contents insurance renewal is through so will see if I can get cheaper when I’m off tomorrow.

I think it is a good idea to focus on CC4 even if the mortgage goes up slightly. It will be a much lower interest rate than 30%. That will be either gone or a lot lower by September. I presume you will then focus on CC2? That will take a while but you sound pretty focused. Well done.

    Thank you both 😀
Only just got up, feel exhausted so I’m glad that I didn’t agree to the extra today. Think I will just potter around the house today sorting washing out.

£100 paid off CC4, paid it last night with it being DHs card. I don’t have the log in details and didn’t want to forget to do it today.
If my holiday money gets refunded then that would clear CC2 and 4 no problem but there’s no telling if or when this will happen so I am not banking on that happening just yet.

Todays tasks (when I have woken up properly) are to have washing baskets emptied and to sort B&Cs insurance renewal out. And also to see if I can get an answer regarding my holiday.!

Have a good day all x
