Car hire

I tried to do a charge back in my marks and spencer credit card for car hire it was non refundable but they say they can’t claim it back they would lose the claim so have refused it. However Martin was on Jeremy Vine last week and he said a non refundable hotel room should still be able to be charged back as it’s not the persons fault. Can I not bring the same case? The the person I spoke to would not have it. Help anyone?

I'm guessing there's been a bit of misunderstanding at some point - just because it's not your fault doesn't mean you're eligible for a refund; it's not their fault either - so they shouldn't necessarily be out of pocket.0
