Travel compensation for reduced services at hotel???
We have noted that we can postpone our holiday with TUI to a later date in 2021 rather than travelling in August this year. We called TUI and were told that the same Holiday for next year on the same dates would be over £1000 more as there are no free child spaces.
However we have also been told by TUI (reflected in everything we have read) that we likely wont get a lot of the features and services we have paid for when we selected our holiday (ie buffet meals, activities etc).
So my question is this. What kind of compensation can we expect for not getting the services we have paid for? If we had wanted less services or options at a hotel we would obviously could have chosen a cheaper hotel and holiday all together.

Any reduction would depend on what is not availablejourneyinphotos said:We have noted that we can postpone our holiday with TUI to a later date in 2021 rather than travelling in August this year. It too much is unavailable then would be classed as a ‘significant change and you can ask for a full refund

At the moment they are saying they cannot say what services they will and wont be able to offer, however I have already read that TIU are moving to a-la-carte stype dining rather than the all includive buffet options. I am also hearing that there may be limits to how many can use pools and that activities will be very limited in numbers of not available at all. I would think that bearing in mind it is the services available at a hotel that dictate how much that hotel costs, then any reduction in serives has to ammount to a significant change to the holiday booked.

But if you have been told before you book that it is not known what services will be available then you book with that knowledge.

Totally agree with that, however we booked last year on the basis of what the hotel and package offered, and now in the current situation we are being told that the holiday will likely 'Not be the one we booked' but cant be pinned down on what exactly will have to be changed.
