Never watched it what did they say ?0

Thruglemir's point really. They can't be satisfied that a test taken shortly after exposure would register a correct result. That's why they are saying 14 days and are not offering tests to cut the 14 days short.sharpe106 said:Never watched it what did they say ?0 -
NHS website says if you get a negative test and you are ok you can stop self isolating.

But not if you were advised by NHS Test and Trace. There seems to be a different rule (see link in your link). Why there is a different approach I am not clear, but if I was an employer I'd advise staff to follow the 14 day rule even if the advice to self isolate didn't come from NHS Test and Trace.sharpe106 said:NHS website says if you get a negative test and you are ok you can stop self isolating.

Fair enough nice to see the advice is straight forward and clear as usual. So I guess for the OP it depends if he went for test themselves or if Test and Trace service sent them.0

I think it's the same logic used for quarantining for 14 days, negative test or otherwise. You have to ask that if you can't take a test on say day 7 and leave quarantine on a negative test result on day 9, just how good are all these tests?sharpe106 said:Fair enough nice to see the advice is straight forward and clear as usual. Does seem fairly pointless taking the test unless you are really ill.0

That seems to be the best approach.0
