after applying for a refund for cancelled flights this suggests I have to wait for 3 months before contacting them again. Is this reasonable? Anything I can do to speed it up?  I did pay on my credit card. Their email States  "due to high volumes currently being processed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will try our best to complete your request within 28 days following submission. Please do not contact us regarding a previous request unless it has been more than 90 days since you made your original submission."
Any help or advice to get the refund sooner? I feel like I've been put on hold for three months...

After the 28 days had passed I initiated a chargeback via my credit card provider. The only reason I waited 28 days is I suspected my bank might tell me to do the same.

I would recommend you do the same.

Legally EJ should have refunded you within 7 days,  so any action after the 7 days would be allowed.
You might as well file a Chargeback if you want , but even that won't be quick atm.
