Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme

As you know, churches have been closed for a few months and it isn’t certain whey they will reopen.
Due to this, probably, people will be retaining tithes for future donation. However, some people may wish to donate to their church by way of bank transfer.
Provided weekly donations are £30 or below, do these donations, by bank transfer, qualify for the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme, even though they aren’t given in cash in a community building?
If they do, could you please refer me to legislation.

Bank transfers never have qualified under GASDS - standard Gift Aid rules apply.
If you are CofE then has your Diocese/Parish adopted the Parish Giving Scheme.
HMRC appreciate that donors will be playing catch up and have issued guidance for church treasurers to use their own judgement if someone gives a cheque for say £50 when they would have been giving £5 a week for the last 10 weeks.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill2 -
I was going to ask if there was a reason NOT to do a Gift Aid form if making the transfer by BACS, but then I realised that the GASDS scheme applies to cash, any cash up to £20, regardless of whether the donor was eligible to Gift Aid it.Signature removed for peace of mind1
