Well, the gang in Beijing are the worst, but I share your opinion too, maybells. Thank you----if everyone took your view, something might be done to stop China.

China is now saying they may impose sanctions on HSBC and other UK companies operating in China. They will go from the UK I am sure.0

They are saying the same about the US too. But they have a huge amount of money invested in these two economies and that goes both ways. There's only so far they can push before it hurts them economically.

HSBC, in trying to placate China, is the only UK Bank to have officially accepted and supported China's new HK law. As a result, it has gained much kudos in China and much bitter comment from Western Countries, especially UK. So, I believe HSBC will come out of the political games between China and the West in a better position than most American and European companies.jonnygee2 said:China is now saying they may impose sanctions on HSBC and other UK companies operating in China. China won't impose sanctions on HSBC, they will simply ensure that they toe the line and gradually take control of the whole operation by ensuring board members are Chinese government officials.London7766551 said:China is now saying they may impose sanctions on HSBC and other UK companies operating in China. What is happening in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland should be of great concern to us all. Huawei is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their plan of world domination.1 -
I couldn't agree more with you ,Neil-----both about HSBC and Huawei and about the wider question which should be of grave concern to everyone. Beijing's stance in the world now reminds me of the history of Japan's Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere ---and we all know that it led to Pearl Harbour. Just at a time in history when we need a REAL American President to counter ( as far as is possible) China's growing might ( as well as Putin's hatred of the West ), we have Trump !!!!Neil49 said:
