If you stick them in Grannys garden you are not breaking the guidlines.

Yep, I'd definitely break the rules. If your parents are healthy and are agreeable, what are parents supposed to do?

Well when you look at the recent riots, the Government is going to have an extremely hard time in being taken seriously now. 15K people huddled together seems to be unaddressed. No wonder the public will lose faith. Not that this helps your situation of course but I suppose it ties in with trusting your instincts.
Majority of whom were probably in the camp of couldn't care less anyway. If the simple message hasn't sunk in yet it never will.  Yet many many people I know are taking it very seriously.  The vast silent majority. Who put health of everyone first not oneself.

I blame the clear lack of direction on this matter from the government.
Unsure what your are expecting the Government to do. The message is clear.

Little point in blaming someone else for a situation which is beyond anyones control. The sooner the risk is diminished the sooner there'll be further relaxation.

    Trust your instincts.

    Another vote for this approach.

The loss of 1 income can cause severe ripples for a family that far outweigh the punishment you'd receive for breaking the 'rules' (that only apply to us plebs anyway). Your parents are adults and have accepted the risk to themselves I presume without coercion, so do what needs to be done.
