National insurance on second job

hi, not sure if this is correct place to post..apologise if not!
I have a full time job plus a second job in which I get taxed 20% on. Is it correct that I pay full national insurance on both jobs also? My second job, depending on how many hours I do, I seem to be paying full NI with every weekly wage plus my main wage. Just wondered if this is correct? Thankyou

Providing that the two jobs are not connected in any way then NI should be calculated on each job as if it were your only job.  In this way you get a full NI allowance for both jobs and so pay less NI than if you earned this amount in one job.  If the jobs are connected then the two wages should be added together and treated as just one wage to calculate NI; unless this cannot be done then they can go back to being treated as two separate jobs.  If the earnings in the two jobs combined took you over the upper earnings limit (currently £962.00 per week) then you would be over-paying and there are arrangements for this ..
