Am I entitled to deposit back?

Being messed about so much by used car dealership and would like to know if I am due the deposit back.  Test drove and paid a deposit on a vehicle which I was told would be ready after the weekend.  I went to collect the vehicle and was told it had a fault during a check and it was not available until midweek.  Then the Covid lockdown occurred which I accepted meant I would be without a vehicle.  Towards the lifting of the lockdown (end of May) they contacted me by phone and knowing I could not get to their dealership told me they were ready to deliver and we agreed to the Monday (bank holiday) being fine.  We arranged car insurance for the vehicle, Monday came and went with no contact from them.  I called them the following day and promised return phone calls but nothing.  I left more messages and was then told they discovered a further problem with the car and it would be having the repair carried out yesterday and they would contact me today.  They didn't call so this afternoon I contacted the salesman who apparently is on a days leave (stating he said it was Thursday he "thought" he said he would call)!  He would contact the workshop to see about the vehicle and get back to me.  Still no phone call back.  Friends have advised I should request my deposit back now and go elsewhere, but am I entitled to my deposit back??

There is nothing specific in the T&Cs about this.

Then request the deposit back and from that point depending on the response, then that is the time to post about it really, there is little point in 2nd guessing what the outcome maybe.
