Furlough pay advice needed

My daughter started working for her employer on 5 March and first pay period ended 15 March.
In her pay at end of March she received full pay for 5 -15 March ( she was taxed but will get that back sometime I assume as she doesnt earn enough to pay?)
The  company shut and furloughed her from 24 Mar onwards so am I write in believing that she should receive full pay for what she works from 16 to 23 and furlough from 24 to end of pay period on 15 Apr.
As per the government's instructions for employers on how to work out the furlough if the employee hasnt yet been paid for a full pay period before 19 March does this sound right?
Amount earned for 9 shifts of 62.5 hours worked over the 10 days between 5Mar and 15Mar - £421.88
Full pay for 16Mar to 23Mar for 42 hours should be £283.50
Furlough pay for 24Mar to 15Apr - pay already earned for 9 shifts divided  by the 10 days to get £42.188 per day.  Multiply by total number of days in pay period 16Feb to 15Mar £1223.452
Divide  by number of days in this pay period 16Mar to 15 Apr so x 31 £39.46
Multiply by number of furlough days in period so from 24Mar to 15Apr which is 23 days so £907.76
If I've worked it out right her pay received in April should've been £283.50 +£706.26 =£989.76

Does all this make sense? Does it look right?
Is there any valid proper reason why her employer would work out her furlough pay in any other way other than how the government instructions on the Gov.uk website tell them to do it?

It looks as if she might be rather fortunate that she qualifies for furlough at all, if she wasn't paid her first wage until the end of March. They must have run payroll some time between 15 and 19 March 2020. I am no payroll expert, but here are my thoughts.

I may not be following you correctly, but 62.5 is not divisible by 9. It does not look like she works a fixed number of hours a week?
She appears to be paid £6.75 an hour (60p over NMW for an 18-20 year old in 2019/20).

If she is a variable pay employee, what they can claim is at an average rate for 17 days worked of £(421.88 for 7 March to 15 March +283.50 for 16 March to 23 March)/17 = £41.49 a day for 23 days per your post, which is £954.34 x 80% = £763.47 furlough, + £283.50 for 42 hours actually worked over 8 days = £1,046.97.
  • I get what you are saying.  It wouldnt be divisible by the 9 days she worked - the government info says to divide by total number of days including those not worked which would mean dividing it by 10?
She was paid her full pay at the end of March for those 9 shifts even though it was for some reason taxed.
At the end of April she was expecting to receive around £1000 BUT was only paid the £283.50 for the hours she worked and no furlough pay.
At the end of May she was expecting to receive around £900 furlough pay and full pay for the hours she worked on 13/14/15 May as they returned to work on 13th BUT was only paid £366.46

These are all rough amounts I've worked out so may not be exactly right to the penny but Im not stupid to think that the company are taking the Mickey with what they have paid her am I?
This is the only way they should have worked out what to pay her isnt it?

Are you sure she is actually being paid for furlough? She needs to check.
