Has anyone else ever bought a new home and then the company who your 10 year warranty is with go bust? And have you had to pay it out yourself? When it was the developers who told you a few weeks after moving in that this was going to happen.

The NHBC certainly have not gone bust!!0

Hi I know they haven't, but one of the companies under them have, because my house has no longer got its 10 year warranty0

Don't know what you mean by "one of the companies under them". What exactly have you been told and by whom? Have you spoken to your solicitor about it yet?0
-
NHBC don't have "companies under them"
Your warranty will be with a different provider and nothing to do with the NHBC.
The developer will still provide you with two years warranty of their own which is the case with all house builders, even those using NHBC.
Who was your warranty with?0 -
So my insurance was with alpha insurance, and when I moved in back in 2018, not long after moving in, my developers told me that they were going bust, but they wouldn't do anything unless they had the money back, which I don't find correct, because mine was 1 of the first 4 built, we are the only ones who are in this situation, they fixed all the other houses out, i have spoken to my solicitor, but they are not much help0

Nothing to do with NHBC. Search on the forum for Alpha insurance, there have been other threads about them.0

I'm not sure what you want anyone to say. Your house isn't warranted.0

Hi Ellie, what communications have you had either from Alpha or from the FSCS?
Do you have a claim to make or are you just concerned about the cover for possible future claims?
Did you make a premium reclaim request yet?
There's an awful lot more about this on the FSCS website. https://www.fscs.org.uk/failed-firms/alpha/
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
