Valid insurance but travelling against FCO advice

We have Nationwide FlexAccount insurance which has covered us against a couple of missed holidays since this started but what happens if we go on our holiday to Italy in late July and FCO advise is still against any non-essential travel. It would cover cancellation but it’s not clear what it would cover, if anything, if we actually go (if EasyJet are flying again)

I don't think it will work at all. I'm on continent now and assuming it's invalid and I don't have any travel insurance. Luckily, EHIC still works if needed.

Insurance is only valid if the policy terms are adhered to, and the event encountered is correspondingly covered.

Yeah - I’m wondering if it covers non-Covid issues like theft etc or if the FCO advice not to travel means the whole policy is void. Maybe the talked about “air bridge” will sort it if they have one with Italy by my travel date.

AFAIK the whole policy will be invalidated, not only anything to do with COVID-19

It would be good to get  travel insurance that excludes covid but covers other standard things, like broken leg, etc. That's what I need, because right now, I can't even go hiking in higher mountains. Don't want to pay for mountain recovery from my own pocket.
Whole talk about air bridges won't solve anything, not everyone is flying.

IMHO if/ when  air bridges come about, that country will be removed from the FCO list.( I admit I'm using logic, so could be wrong)
