Hi everyone, firstly I hope your all safe and well, my question relates to my partner of 20nyears who works for my recruitment company of which there is 2 directors, one of them. Myself and one a former employee of mine who started this company up 2.5 years ago, my question relates to. My partner who works for us as a recruitment consultant, she is paid monthly via a payroll company and she does all her own tax via self assessment, this just made it easy for us so we didn't have to worry about payroll or tax by employing her. My question is what is she eligible for be Use as you can imagine the recruitment industry died overnight, she couldn't claim universal credit as we earned to much, I don't seem to be able to get my head round what it is she can claim if anything, I am hoping she could claim the 80% but I am worried this will be a no go. The business is also screwed as we earned over 50k the year before so I can't claim anything other than a loan which will have to be paid back anyway, can someone shed some light on my partners situation please , I bguess we could not furliw her as effectively she is self employed....... Isn't she?

I would question whether your partner is genuinely self employed, but leaving that aside, your company cannot furlough her because it will not have submitted an RTI return for her by 19 March 2020. I do not understand what the function of the payroll company paying her monthly is, if she is self employed.
If she has been filing self assessment tax returns for 2018/19 (and earlier), she may be eligible for the self employed grant:
